Z: Restaurant Closed Ararat House of Barbecue 617-924-4100

It's worth the trip to see the landscape painting on the wall of snow-capped Mt. Ararat.

I've been meaning to check this place out. I'll have to do it now and let everybody know.

Ararat is a great little place to get takeout - they're very friendly, and they have an $11.99 special which gets you a whole rotisserie chicken, smallish garden salad, big rice pilaf, pita bread, and garlic sauce for the chicken. We fed 4 people on that plus some stuffed grape leaves and tabbouleh. The kabob plates are highly recommended as well. The dining room is pretty basic - I wouldn't want to dine in, really - but it's excellent for takeout. Also notable for being the only Armenian restaurant that I know of in the area - the shops here are Armenian, but not the restaurants, for some reason.

By far the best Shawarma I've ever had. Truly amazing. And I've had them all over the world
