Greater Boston Intergenerational Chorus

By WaterTownCrier - Posted on 18 January 2006

It was last night and it was Fantastic. That's right folks, if you were not there, let me tell you a little of what Pamela and I enjoyed.
First it started at 7:00 PM at the First Parish Church, 35 Church Street and was directed by Joanne Hammil and Martha Leader accompanied on piano along with a chorus of about 40 unique individuals. This chorus is a non-auditioned community chorus that's open to all from 10 to 110, although I did not see anyone over the age of, say sixty-five ;-) ....
We arrived at about 6:40 PM and the church was filling up quick. I saw many notable Watertownians, Mary C. Spiers, David Leon, Alex Liasos and Susie! They sang twelve songs upstairs and then Joanne asked us to come downstairs and share in singing the final song of the evening, Fare thee Well..... a traditional round of "Oh How Lovely Is the Evening"; new words by Joanne Hammil. They raffeled off two CDs and invited us, the audience to join the Chorus for future dates. Anyway, for more info, check out her Website at http.www.joannehammil.com I took one photograph and a little one-song video of "You've got a Friend".... In case any of you that wanted to go but were afraid you might miss the RAB meeting at the Lower Hearing Room (Phillip Pane Room) at Town Hall, it ended a little after 8PM, you could have done both. One last thought.... the First Parish Church is comfortable, welcoming and beautiful!

Amen, WaterTownCrier! It was a wonderful concert, both for the singers and the audience.
