JD Donohue's Official Statement
Today, Wednesday December 26th, I was in court challenging the process of the re-count of the election of November 6th. The Judge in this case has made a ruling not to allow for an injunction for a “special election between myself and Marilyn” or the review of the ballot boxes in Districts B 4 and B 5. Although I have been advised that the judges decision not to allow a review of the ballot boxes in Districts B 4 and B 5 maybe erroneous as a matter of law, I have decided not to appeal the decisions further. I have done so, so as not to provide for a lengthy and costly dispute with the town, while putting the continuity of the council and the best interests of the residents first. I also feel that an appeal will not allow for a clear and conclusive answer for the irregularities that occurred during the re-count.
I would like to thank my family, friends and the many residents of Watertown that have stepped forward with a tremendous amount of support over the past 2 years and it has been an honor to represent all residents of Watertown as a Councilor at Large.
I plan on continually being involved as a father, resident and business owner here in the City known as the Town of Watertown for many years to come. I hope as neighbors that we can all continue to work in a positive manner of progress making our home, Watertown, the best place to live.
Thank you and Happy New Year,
John Donohue

Challenging the recount in Superior Court
To the Residents of Watertown,
On November 6, I had a five vote margin of victory in the election for Councilor-at-Large. After the recount on November 30, I trailed by six votes.
Because the ballots were improperly handled at the recount, the voters deserve a complete judicial review in order that all the citizens of Watertown can be confident in the results of the election, as determined by a competent court of law.
As a result, after many discussions with my family and friends, I am announcing that I will be challenging the recount in Superior Court.

could we please have an explination from the TAB?
Chris,
As someone that has worked very closely with Steve Corbett over the past 2 years, I am very disappointed that the Watertown Tab and Press did not endorse him. I also understand that you can only endorse four candidates, but to not even mention his name and justify why the Tab chose not to endorse an incumbent is an injustice to him and the community.
I feel an endorsement with reservations does not educate the community or give quality insight to the voters who deserve representation without personal grandstanding and one sided agendas.
If possible please express to the community why Steve was not endorsed, it would only be fair.
Thank you,
Councilor John Donohue
