I've just learned (from the very informative and unfailingly courteous Officer Hoffman of the Watertown Police) that there's no law on the books to prevent Watertown residents from putting their driveway snow in 12-foot piles on the sidewalk. This is good news for the owner of 78 Winsor Avenue (among others), but not the best news for those of us who walk around town.

This dangerous discourtesy forces pedestrians to take their chances on our often ill-lit and snow-narrowed streets. As someone ignorant in the ways of Watertown's political system, I ask: what's the best way to get this situation changed?
